Our Instructors

Yaśodeva
Yaśo’s search for meaning compelled him to leave home as a young teenager. His journey eventually led him to New Zealand where, at the age of eighteen, he began formal training as a monk (brahmacari) in one of the foremost bhakti ashrams. After seven years of study and practice in New Zealand, Australia, America and Mexico, he finally graduated from the monastic lifestyle and settled in Australia with his wife, Anandini. There they spearheaded a dynamic bhakti community and introduced thousands of people the spiritual yoga lifestyle.

He's a Certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant (Australian College of Eastern Medicine) and has been teaching ayurvedic courses and consulting patients since 2012. He has extensive theoretical and applied knowledge of ancient yoga wisdom texts. He's currently a mentor for many bhakti yoga students around the world. And he regularly volunteers and serves at the Gita Nagari Eco Farm and Sanctuary.

Anandini
Anandini’s love for yoga began at the young age of eight, when a bhakti yoga teacher inspired her to take yoga off the mat and immerse herself in the beautiful wisdom culture.
In the pursuit of genuine yoga experience she traversed sacred India with the swamis and climbed the Himalayas at 15 years old. Over the course of her 20+ visits to India she became certified in Astanga yoga, Pranayama and Meditation at the yoga ashram of Dr. Yogendra Mishra. She completed yoga teacher training and also taught at Core Power Yoga studio in Los Angeles, CA.
Anandini holds an Associate Degree in Political Science (Santa Monica College, Los Angeles) and a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Linguistics (University of New South Wales, Sydney). She applies the psychological science to deepen her students’ yoga experience.
Anandini and her husband now live in State College. They’re raising two kids and facilitating meditation and yoga club at Penn State University.
At Bhakti Yoga Center she will be taking you on an exciting journey of self-development through ashtanga vinyasa yoga, kirtan (mantra meditation), vegan cooking workshops, thematic seminars and yoga teacher trainings.
Hannah Persaud
My name is Hannah Persaud, a 200 hr RYT. I’ve been practicing yoga individually for several years, until I met the Bhakti Yoga Center community in State College. My passion for yoga has only grown since, and has lead me to pursue teaching.

I enjoy teaching varieties of classes including, Vinyasa levels 1-3, Beginner Yoga, and Restorative Flows. I hope to create a welcoming environment for anyone interested in learning and practicing yoga. I believe yoga can be for anyone, regardless of experience.

When I’m not at the yoga studio, I’m studying towards a degree in Sociology at Pennsylvania State University. In my leisure I like to crochet, read, hike, and take care of my plants:) I love connecting with new people and hope to keep on growing with the Bhakti Yoga community here in downtown State College.
Suzuka Yamane
Suzuka is currently a psychology student at Penn State University. She is passionate about mindfulness-based interventions and holistic approaches to mental health.
Following a friend’s recommendation, she started attending yoga and meditation sessions in college at the Bhakti Yoga Center. She experienced firsthand how a holistic yoga practice not only strengthens the body but also the mind and soul. To deepen her practice, she completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training during the spring semester of 2022.

After receiving her certification, she began to teach Vinyasa classes at a Wellness Center located in her hometown. She also enjoys teaching one-on-one lessons to meet the student’s needs and goals. As a teacher at Bhakti Yoga Center, she hopes to inspire others and give back what yoga has given her.
Kayla Laddin
Hey! My name is Kayla, I have been practicing yoga for about 5 years and ever since my first class, I knew yoga was going to be a part of my life forever. My goals as a teacher are to give students a safe place to fully let go, calm their minds, and take a break from the fast paced student life. I will be teaching vinyasa flow for all levels and well as restorative/meditation classes.
My classes will give you a chance to release all negative energy and leave feeling balanced and energized! My passions outside of yoga include sustainability, community building, wellness and I integrate these ideas into my classes.
